Top Ten Movie Scenes

Wed Dec 24, 2008, 11:59 PM
I saw :iconlosmios: and :iconfirefeet: do this and so it got me thinking and now I want to do it! Only it was really, really hard for me to just pick out my favorite 10 movie scenes sooo

1.) [link] Dogma - I am a very devoted Christian, don't get me wrong, but this is one of my favorite movies and I think there are actually some very important lessons that can be taken (like God goes not care what demonination you are, just as long as you have faith in him). I was looking for the "walrus and the carpenter" scene but I found this one and it is just really, really good. Ben Afflec and Matt Damon are just awesome together, especially when they play disgraced angels.

2.) Reservoir Dogs - the entire movie just stuck with me, it was the first really disturbing film that I ever watched and I really am surprised by how much it stayed with me. At the end I just sat there, stunned. There are a few favorite scenes from the movie - and some that are even very funny, but this was I think is the most powerful. For those of you who ever never seen this movie this is the very end and to completely explain the scene I would explain the entire movie. Believe me, just go rent it Could Not get the link to post for the life of me, so search youtube for Reservoir Dogs, Part 10.

3.) [link] Balto - Dude, no matter how many times I watch this I still get chills!

4.) [link] Pulp Fiction - O.M.G. there is a reason my dogs are named Vincent and Jules. Sam Jackson + John Travolta = Awesome.

5.) [link] Kill Bill - Did I mention I love Quentin Tarantino? Anyway, there are several clips that I could have put here from both vol. 1 and 2 but I settled for this one. It is two powerful warriors facing each other, former best friends, one who was gravely betrayed by the other, who are now in a battle to the death. I mean, common how awesome is that?

6.) [link] Emperor's New Groove - The whole movie is awesome, but this part is pretty funny, not gonna lie.

7.) [link] V For Vendetta - I do believe that this is one of my favorite movies and I keep watching it over and over again and haven't gotten tired of it yet. The entire scene is just completely powerful, especially when V admits that he had tortured Evey. The "yeah" part, you can feel his regret in hurting her, and then at the end when Evey whispers "God is in the rain" and walks out into the storm.

8.) [link] Tombstone - Firefeet said it best, this is the best western ever. I personally am I fan of this part, when Doc Holiday and Johnny Ringo enter their first face-off... then it goes into "You know, Frederick f-ing Chopin."

9.) [link] Hero - This entire movie masterfully done, and simply breath taking. I had a very difficult time finding my favorite scene, because they are all unique and beautiful. I ended up selecting this one because I love the color sequence and because Flying Snow is a bad ass.

10.) [link]
Black Hawk Down - "No one asks to be a hero." This movie haunted me the first time I saw it and I still cry at the end. The last ten minutes is just something you cannot explain. You have the guys who have been awake, on their feet for 24 hours, friends getting shot and dying around them, not sure they are going to make it out alive, no water for hours in the hot desert, just had to RUN out of the hotzone, completely exhausted with their legs trembling and they finally make it into safety where Pakastani soliders present them with water. It is something so simple you would never understand unless you have ever been that exhausted and dehydrated. The general in the hospital trying to clean up the blood and all that happens when he tries to help is continue to spread the blood - the symbolizem there is just Wow, sums up the entire movie. The solider who almost died but tells his captain to wait until he is better because he refuses to fail to him. The soldier who explains that is not about him being a war junkie, but about protecting the man next to him. Eversman speaking to a dead friend who saved another solider, saying "no one asks to be a hero." A soldier reading a letter to his wife..... It's just, everything. There is another scene towards the beginning of the movie where three black hawks are over a beautiful ocean scene and they just seem to be floating there, I couldn't find it on youtube but I love that part as well.
